Newly endorsed Microsoft Xbox chief Phil Spencer said in an interview to Edge Magazine that the Xbox is the most valuable asset to Microsoft. He believes that Xbox is the most valuable asset that can help Microsoft achieve its goal of increasing consumer relevance.
an asset that’s extremely valuable, and since our future ambition is to grow our consumer relevance, Xbox has to be at the center of that
Phil Spencer was reported by Edge Magazine.
It may surprise some of us as to why the question of selling Xbox platform arise as no such plans are reveled by Microsoft. More recently newly crowned CEO of the company focused on mobile platform and cloud computing as the feature thus dropping out the gaming console division of the company.
In the mean time former employee of Microsoft and a game developer Peter Molyneux, was also quoted that Kinect is an unnecessary addition to Xbox and also said that Kinect is a “joke”.
While his statement didn’t seem to matter Microsoft much as Kinect was the center last year when Microsoft’s latest Xbox One was launched. According to Microsoft Kinect will take the gaming experience to a new level altogether. Microsoft, at its launch, focused mainly on the sensor which allows controller-less gaming and also to control onscreen applications with voice command. Peter Molyneux also felt that the voice recognition was not to the mark.
Although Paul did not responded to the Peter Molyneux comments,he definitely expressed his optimistic view for the Kinect’s future. He promised the gamers for more games later this year. He was also quoted saying that Xbox will have more dedicated games as compared to SONY’s Playstation 4.
