The wait for the first tizen running smartphone may end soon. Samsung and Intel have sent invitations for February 23 event. Samsung and Intel are two of the 36 companies involved in development of the tizen OS.
There are around 36 companies involved in development of tizen OS some of which are Panasonic, sharp, eBay, Intel and many more.
Samsung is developing the new OS in order to secure its future of Smartphones in case the android platform takes a U-turn. Soon Samsung could manufacture tizen based Smartphones to add to its phone line up.
The event is scheduled for February 23, surprisingly one day before the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona kicks off.
