Google published the android statistics according to which recently launched android KitKat now holds a share of 1.1%.
The OS was launched recently with nexus 5 first to run on android KitKat OS.The group was extended by nexus 4 and nexus 7 following nexus 5. Not to mention Google sells nexus phones. For the first time Google has launched nexus phone with customizations layer on top of pure android OS. Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One Google edition is also receiving updates for the latest OS.
Most of the other flagship devices are running on the earlier versions on android OS. Recently LG Canada announced that its flagship device LG G2 will receive the latest android KitKat update no sooner than march 2014. Android KitKat’s ability to run on low end phones with RAM as much as 500mb will be able to enjoy a large market share as compared to earlier versions.
