Amazon recently introduced its new delivery system called as the Prime Air. The new delivery system will improve the delivery time to customers by delivering products by drones. Optocopters as they are called by the company will reduce the delivery to about half an hour. The drones will have a operation range of 10 miles.
The drones will be able to carry a weight of around 5 pounds. According to the company currently 86% of the goods delivered have a weight within the 5 pounds range.
Though this may be attracting with to watch immediate air above full of drones, Amazon has made it clear that the service will not put in place even as early as 2015.According to Amazon, the delivery system Prime Air as they call it is still in development phase and requires many clearances. One of the major clearance it requires is to put optocopters in air.
