Surface 2 is modification of its earlier counterpart running on a intel Haswell processor. Recently Microsoft has revealed the iteration of it’s not so popular surface tablet series named as surface 2 pro. The update is now available almost after a year when the series was first announced.
The tablet surface 2 pro comes equipped with Intel’s new Haswell processor but the internal architecture is still the same old story. The tablet is torn down by iFixit and have published the observations. The screen is glued hard to the body, harder than the iPads. There are almost 90 screws that hold the tablet together. It is extremely difficult to tear it down. The battery is also glued and difficult to replace. There are no major architectural changes on the tablet and the improved performance is mostly due to the Intel’s i5 Haswell processor. The longer battery life is result of the same. On the scale of 1 to 10, iFixit has given only 1 rating.
